Philosophy

A creative home is a home that feels personalized, stylish + comfortable. It usually has a detail (or ten!) that surprises you—unexpected flourishes that make you smile and resonate with your aesthetic soul.

I believe there are three basic strategies for decorating a creative home:

  1. Object Curation: Select a few pieces that bring you joy. Perhaps they spark a fond memory or perhaps they simply make your eyes happy. The key is to maximize these pieces in your décor scheme. They could be a photo, a rug, a couch, a paperweight, etc. Size is irrelevant. How you highlight these objects is where the magic happens.

  2. Color Employment: Do bright colors fill you up? Do neutrals soothe you? Or are black, white, and gray your jam? Using colors in a way that speaks to you is essential to making your home feel like ‘you.’

  3. Space Management: Whether you live in 300 or 1,500 square feet, does your space serve every function you need? Do you have designated spaces for work, play, food, and sleep? Do you have smart storage solutions to keep your place organized and functioning smoothly? Does your furniture work with or against your traffic patterns? Managing space properly and creatively can be the difference between a home that evokes harmony + ease versus chaos + stress.
